This exhibit displays Charlie's and Leo's artwork from their Cultural Horizons requirement as part of the First Studies program at Saint Louis University.

Charlie selected seven ceramics he produced in the Ceramics I course this semester. Leo selected eight oil paintings produced between Spring 2025 and Spring 2026 in the Painting I, Painting II, and Independent Study courses.

Leo Rander, SJ is a Jesuit scholastic of the Midwest Province of the Society of Jesus.

Born and raised in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Leo moved to the United States in 2018 to pursue a graduate degree at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He earned a Master of Science in Chemistry in 2020. He joined the Jesuits in 2021 and professed First Vows in 2023, after which he began his studies at Saint Louis University (SLU). At SLU, he took up an interest in visual art and studied oil painting under visual artist Song Watkins-Park for three semesters. Currently, he teaches science and religion at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, OH.
